Frequently asked questions

How accurate is plant identification?

Sproute uses the PlantNet identification engine and gives you a confidence score with every result. No identification tool is ever 100% accurate, and some plants have dangerous look-alikes. Always confirm with a trusted source and never eat anything you aren't completely sure of.

Why does Sproute need my camera, photos, or location?

The camera and photo library are used to capture the plant you want to identify. Location is optional and only used to show whether a plant grows in your region. You can change these permissions anytime in your device Settings.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Sproute Premium is billed through your Apple ID. To manage or cancel, open the Settings app → tap your name → SubscriptionsSproute. Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.

How do I restore a purchase?

If you've reinstalled the app or switched devices, open Sproute and use the restore option on the paywall, or contact us and we'll help.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open Sproute, go to Profile → Delete Account, and confirm. This permanently removes your account and saved finds. You can also email us to request deletion.

Is Sproute a substitute for an expert?

No. Sproute is an educational tool to help you learn and make better decisions. Foraging carries real risks — when in doubt, leave it out.
