This Privacy Policy explains how Sproute ("Sproute", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Sproute mobile application (the "App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address to create and secure your account. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase.
Photos and camera images. When you identify a plant, the App accesses your camera or photo library to capture the image you choose. Images are processed to provide identification results.
Location. With your permission, the App uses your approximate device location to indicate whether a plant grows in your region. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Saved finds. Plants you save are stored on your device and, when you are signed in, synced to your account via Google Firestore.
Subscription status. Purchases and subscription state are processed by Apple/Google and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
2. How we use your information
To provide plant identification and the App's core features.
To create, authenticate, and secure your account.
To sync your saved finds across your devices.
To manage subscriptions and entitlements.
To diagnose problems and improve the App.
3. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who process it on our behalf:
Google Firebase / Firestore — authentication and data sync.
Google & Apple Sign-In — login.
RevenueCat, Apple, and Google — subscription and payment processing.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
4. Data retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the App (Profile → Delete Account), or by contacting us at the address below.
5. Your choices
Revoke camera, photo, or location permissions in your device settings.
Delete your account in-app. Go to Profile → Delete Account to permanently delete your account and all associated data (your saved finds and settings in Firestore, your local data, and your authentication record). This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
Request access to or deletion of your data by emailing us.
Sign out at any time from within the App.
6. Children's privacy
Sproute is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
